Water ATM Proposal

After watching the success of Water ATM’s nationwide, we are planning to set up Water ATM’s across the various parts of the country. Our idea will be an action to curb the water crisis in various remote areas which have low reservoir storages and groundwater levels. These ATMs are solar-powered and a decentralised drinking water plant based on reverse osmosis has been set up in this area to provide pure water through these ATMs. As we are already the manufacturers of Reverse Osmosis Plants , it would be cost effective to build up the Water ATMs. Basic Objective: To reduce the water scarcity problem in various parts of the country. With the increase in the number of population, the demand for water is also increasing. Many cities faces a severe water crisis almost throughout the year, especially during the summer months. To reduce this shortage of water problem, we coined the idea of setting up of water ATMs in various rural as well as urban areas. How water ATMs work? We have

RO water for Delhi slums, resettlement colonies

NEW DELHI: About 8,000-odd residents of SavdaGhevda's slums and resettlement colonies will soon have access to subsidized reverse osmosis (RO) treated water. Delhi Jal Board is setting up a pilot project under which it will provide RO water to the residents for Rs 3-6 per 20 litres. "This area is currently fed through tubewells and tankers. We are often unable to meet the full demand through tankers and would like to replace the system. Under the new project, we will dig one tubewell and treat it through RO. We will then set up kiosks, like those installed at milk booths, to dispense water. If someone purchases water from the plant itself, it will cost them Rs 3 per 20 litres. If it is bought from any other kiosk, it will cost Rs 6 per 20 litres. This will cover the cost of transporting the water from the plant to the kiosks," said a senior DJB official. According to sources, the pilot project will cover about 8,000 people and eventually cover a population of about 25,0

Madurai ward meets drinking water needs through RO plant

MADURAI: Even when many areas in the city struggle to get quality drinking water regularly, residents of Iravathanallur ward in Madurai Municipal Corporation (MMC) gets purified drinking water without fail. Even before its incorporation to the city corporation as ward 55, the people here had the foresight to invest in a reverse osmosis (RO) plant. Even when other wards in Madurai city struggle to get water, every family in Iravathanallur gets two pots of purified water for a meagre Re 1.50 round the month. Though, MMC refuses to provide any maintenance funds, the residents operate the plant with support from ward councillor, residents said. Two RO plants were established in Iravathanallur and Vadivelkarai panchayats in 2009 with joint funding from Madurai district administration and the local panchayats. Both the plants are maintained well mainly because of public support. When Iravathanallur became part of Madurai city, locals had feared that the plant may be discarded. "We insi

AHMEDABAD: A consumer court recently asked Whirlpool India to pay an amount of Rs 2000 to a consumer from Ahmedabad, Kalpesh Parikh, who filed a complaint against a defective RO water purifier. However, his repeated attempts to get it repaired from Whirlpool went in vain as the company refused to pay heed to his complaints.
