After garbage and litter and direct disposal of sewerage into sea at the RK Beach area, now, untreated sewerage and dirty water from resorts and colonies are being directly dumped into the sea stretch from Rushikonda to Sagarnagar. Trenches have been dug for the purpose by a resort at Rushikonda Beach and by the Sagarnagar colony residents at Sagarnagar beach for the purpose. This has become a major turnoff for tourists, especially foreigners who like to go surfing at Rushikonda in that particular area. Besides, water pollution is also endangering the lives of fish and other aquatic creatures.
